Love God Children’s Home

The Love God Children’s Home began in 2001. Operating a children’s home for 36 children is the fulfillment of a life long dream for Ranjana who was raised in an orphanage in Pune, India.

The Love God Home is run on Christian principles, as the staff are practicing Christians. Education is a priority for every child, with an English medium education as the goal. Literacy in Hindi, Marathi and English will help equip each child for college entry, good jobs and a brighter future. The children are tutored daily by our staff either before or after school. It is common for our tutors to completely reteach an entire day’s school content to ensure mastery.

Children who want to learn to play a musical instrument have the opportunity to learn keyboard, guitar or drums. Those exhibiting aptitude eventually have the opportunity be in a worship band leading worship for the Joshua Generation Churches, if they choose to.

Routines are important in a children’s home. Each child has a set routine and expectations to meet each day including keeping their bunk clean, doing their laundry and keeping up with their studies. Free time and play time are part of the routine. The girls enjoy crafts, and styling each others hair, while the boys crave physical activity. For them, it’s Cricket all the way.

The children are grouped by age and gender for their bunk placement and each has his/her own bunk, locker, clothing and hygiene items. Children are fed 3 meals plus snacks each day and have access to medical treatment if needed. The Love God Home provides a safe, predictable, compassionate, clean, and well organized environment for these children to just be kids.
